Default Go to the PUB!!!

ok I briefly looked through the threads and found nothing like this...(please give me the thread if there is)

I cannot stand going to easily accesible places (ascalon, random arenas, isle of balthazar,kamadan...etc...) because of all the people who are there to just chat... And I understand that you will get a level of this with free online play...but...Usually the chat is perverted, racist ,political (This games rating is not a true estimation of the content of the game ) and everything else I DONT want to hear in this game I love....

so.. what I am suggesting is a place where players can go (ALL players) where they can socialize and do non game related stuff all they want...

It could be a pub-like town/zone with mini games and dance floors and ...whatever

the thing that would make this feature great is the ability to kick people to the pub.. for instance if XX amount of people flag you for the pub....bam...off you go...and cannot return the the previous town until..some time goes by....

I thought it was a good idea...but if you disagree thats fine...i'll just keep avoiding places in the game...

EDIT: ok... so after the first few posts I realized I should make my thoughts more clear

1. This doesnt have to be called a PUB...the point is to be a social place with features like...dancefloors, minigames, activities that stimulate interesting conversation (to entice people to leave the other popular places in the game and hang out in this area)

2. One person cannot just kick anyone there... this is how it would work... you notice a "pervert/grevious person" and flag them for kicking to pub (with a reason field) after x amount of flags the grevious person would get a notice that he is being flagged (not giving names of people who flagged him) ...and if he persists and the amount of flags continues to x amount... he will automatically get booted to the "pub" where he would have to stay for x amount of time...

3. can this system be abused? maybe, perhapse... but not as abused as the game itself...

4. Plus... this place would be fun to visit for novel reasons anyway... it is a place where people that would get kicked...would actually enjoy it there...novelties that the "pub" may offer
-a place to drink dwarven ale
-dancefloors
-mini games (witches hat trick game, games of chance, mini pet fighting, bop a worm...stuff like that )
-large area with many districts
-social atmosphere
-picture booths
-a BAND where you can actually play your mean air guitar

It would be nice to remove all the idiots from the towns, but all those idiots ending up in one place with a kick system would result in more idiots back in the towns, having been kicked from idiot haven. Sounds rather pointless to me as they will kick people for, uh, kicks. /notsigned (see increase ignore limit thread, it's a better way to deal with idiots =P)

Gimme Money Plzthx has a point. It might be pointless but those idiots might not really pay attention to their idiocity. And why would anyone kick someone for acting like an idiot themselves. That would just be hypocritical!
But Plzthz has a point. Anyways a social haven such as a pub or a club is a great idea in my opinion.

Any place besides places involved with fighting. I love it but thats really all the game is based around, its nice to get away from it all.

Many many many ideas have been like this in the past, like the PvE islands or whatever....

If I had a nickel for every time I've seen those morons in town tell eachother to stfu and stop spamming and proceed to spam stfu (thus being hypocritical) Bill Gates would have nothing on me. I would bet my life that they would kick eachother for pointless things, or just to say "LOOOOOL N00B U G0T PWNZORED PLOX HAHAHAHHA." and then they would end up back in town. Plus they enjoy being idiots, and would stay in town for that purpose, instead of excercising the use of that ever so decreasing-in-presence faculty, intelligence, and go to the "pub".

And if you want to communicate with multiple people not discussing the questionable material? I'm sick of adding so many people to my ignore list. I have to clear it out every month or so because of the number of morons saying idiotic things. And if they're just there to chat, why not get a messenger? It's FREE, unlike GW, and you can do it without bothering people.

The Pub has to be the most overdone motif of all RPGs.

a nice idea, imho. i'm missing taverns that should be in RPG-like games. what about adding a small outpost-like tavern in cities? or add a tavern [that is not map-travelable] in long stretches of areas like the one from Beacon's Perch to Camp Rankor, where adventurers [ppl who !fight to droks] can rest and clear DPs.

People should use IM???

ya...but the point is people DONT use messanger...they use the game we love to sit around and talk about (usually perverted) things... and while kicking people may not work (or maybe it could ) a place dedicated for people to go...while having other fun things to do there like mini games (and NAKED DANCE PARTY HERE!!!....(sigh) ) I think would keep a lot of immature people out of the mainstream...

and they would NOT know who flagged them for kicking...it would automatically kick them after so many flags...and not let them back right away....

If only we could flag people to be reveiwed by a moderator or something...

for instance... you flagg the pervert spammer...check the reason box for flagging and gets reveiwed my a moderator for further review..

...sigh... I cant fill up the ignore list with all these morons...too much work to avoid immature people...and I sincerely hope Im not the only one who gets frusterated with horny little 14 year olds ..."looking for a girl to get naked and dance with..and talk dirty!"

most people who are going to use this, are the people who now spam racist stuff in kamadan etc.. and they're not going to kick their friends!
plus, people chat in easily accessible places. when they are in a town just because a quest leads them there, they just wanna relax for a few minutes, and are not going to a specific town to do so. Well, I don't think many would.

I think such a place will be deserted in less than 3 weeks.

Wow...forcing a player to go somewhere else and not be able to return, great idea!

Not!

What kind of punishment is that? Here, you're spamming stupid/annoying/offensive stuff, we'll just send you somewhere with games and stuff!11

You can already switch districts AND ignore the person, that's enough, really, it is. I seem to get by just find with an ignore list and the ability to leave the town/district. Not to mention that you can turn off the local chat if it's overflowing with it, after all, if the local chat is overflowing with spam, you can't talk to anyone anyway as they won't see it, so don't anyone try to give that argument. We have a whisper system for a reason, learn to use it.

punishment is not the point.... just to have somewhere solely dedicated to social activities... so that the rest of the guild wars world can actually play the game.... have you been to random arenas lately? I go there whenever I want to test a build and it would be nice to have others there that actually want to discuss testing builds as well... instead you have people runnin around naked spouting out offensive words/subjects...

---I dont want to take off all chat- because there are people who I would actually like to talk to

---I dont want to waist time switching districts all the time- especially when Im in conversation with someone needing help with finding an item or what not...if you play by your lonesome thats fine...i prefer to play with mature people

---and people wouldnt just get booted unless they REALLY deserved it (high flagging requirement or something)

---and why wouldn't anyone want a place like this ...it sounds fun to me

...I already know how the game works and I do what I can to avoid the frustrations (switching districts, changing chat channels) .....but that doesnt mean its the best way to do it... and if you deny that this kind of problem exists in a free online game then you are probably one of the warrior humpers yourself....we might as well throw some more adult content into the game and give it a mature rating...
